F2A

F2A belongs to the 2A-peptides, which is a class of self-cleaving peptides. The ribosome translates the mRNA till the 2A-motive is reached and the is broken at the 21st aminoacid of the peptide. Translation of the following mRNA sequence happens without the need for a new start codon. Functionality of this part was shown in Trichoderma reesei (Subramanian et al., 2017).



Usage

This part can be used to co-express different proteins from one mRNA. Functionality of this part in Pichia pastoris was shown in BBa_K3105679.
